SsangYong has released new images of the crossover concept it will unveil at next week's Frankfurt motor show.
The SSangYong Concept XIV 1 (the manufacturer has changed the name from XUV 1) is described by the Korean company as a 'premium crossover utility vehicle'. The B-segment design will combine supermini dimensions with a high-seating position.
Last month SsangYong issued three darkened images of Concept XIV 1 as a hint, but the latest pictures show off the car's styling much more vividly.
SSangYong says the cabin will have an unconventional design. The seating layout will come in 1+1+2 or 1+3 forms, accessible via coach-style doors. Interior functions will all be controlled with mobile devices and smart instruments.
The Concept XIV 1 (the name is derived from ‘Exciting User Interface Vehicle 1’) will also feature a full glass roof and a wide, wraparound windscreen.
No performance details are available. SsangYong will relaunch its brand in the UK next month with the Kia Sportage-sized Korando crossover.
The manufacturer's Frankfurt display will also feature its new SUT-1 sports-utility pick-up, which is based on the concept seen at the Geneva show earlier this year.
